The BEE Institute is a professional body that provides valuable support to businesses and practitioners that have adopted the Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) Scorecard and wish to implement Sustainable BEE™. We offer support, services and training to its membership who include Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) and sustainability practitioners.

 

All BEE Institute members are able to access the following serices and support.

 

The institute’s goal is to bring together all interested parties in the BEE field to enhance the understanding and implementation of BEE.

The objective of our training is to provide the BEE Practitioner with a clear understanding of what is expected of an organisation in dealing with BEE and how to effectively implement BEE within their respective business units. The training aims to equip the practitioner with practical skills.

 

Why is BEE important?

While the B-BBEE policy is a legally documented and gazetted act it is not enforceable by means of fines or penalties; this is because the spirit of the policy is not one of compliance, but rather acceptance and embracing the principles of the programme.

It is important, therefore, that South African companies seek not just to comply with the act; but rather, through policy, strategy and implementation projects, embrace the BEE business model to grow not only the South African Economy but also their own business.
